Gallatin County Election Department

The Gallatin County Election Department mailed ballots for the 2021 Municipal General Election today, Wednesday, Oct. 13, to all registered active voters in Gallatin County. Voters will likely start seeing ballots in their mailbox later this week. A total of 75,070 ballots were mailed. Return postage for ballots is prepaid for this election.

Ballots must be returned no later than 8 p.m. on Election Day, Tuesday, Nov. 2, in order to be counted. Ballots postmarked on or before Election Day but received after Election Day cannot be accepted.
Ballots may be returned by mail. The Election Department advises mailing them no later than Oct. 27 to ensure they arrive on time.

Ballots can be dropped at any of these locations Monday through Friday from 8 AM to 5 PM, and on Election Day from 7 AM to 8 PM.
And for those who want to vote in person or didn’t receive their mail ballot, please visit the Gallatin County Election Department, located in room 210 at the Gallatin County Courthouse, 311 W. Main St. in downtown Bozeman.
This information will be provided to voters on instructions that come with each ballot.
If you still need to register to vote in this election or update your registration, you must appear in person at the Gallatin County Election Department. The deadline to register or update registration is noon on Monday, Nov. 1 – the day BEFORE Election Day. We can no longer process new registrations on Election Day.
The Election Department is located in room 210 of the Gallatin County Courthouse at 311 W. Main St. in downtown Bozeman.
